Award of offshore support contract ensures continuity in supply chain

Debmarine has awarded AMSOL Namibia a 2-year contract in respect of an offshore supply and support service for their offshore diamond mining fleet. The Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel ‘Nomasa’ will fulfil this important function out of Lüderitz, with a team of well experienced Masters, Officers and Crew meeting the requirement for a reliable service.

‘Nomasa’ is an Otjiherero word meaning ‘Strong’, and the vessel name was proposed by a Grade 12 learner – Utjiua Tjavara – attending Otjiwarongo Secondary School in Otjiwarongo, Namibia. Previously known as the AHTSV ‘Lombok’, the vessel’s renaming follows her recent acquisition by AMSOL.

AMSOL’s Commercial & Offshore Marine Services Executive Peet Reyneke: “The contract with Debmarine is an opportunity to continue building the foundation of AMSOL Namibia and positively impact the local supply chain as well as local employment. Our long term partnership with Debmarine is underpinned by a commitment to Safety, Health, Environmental protection and Quality (SHEQ) and we look forward to continuing to create value for all stakeholders.”
