COMPANY STRUCTURE

AMSOL Group is an African owned and operated company which started in South Africa. Together with Pan–African Capital Holdings, the Mineworkers Investment Company and RMB Ventures the South African company includes employee and management shareholding.

STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK

In the period since launch in 2016, AMSOL has successfully consolidated its market position in South Africa, securing key contracts, developed the brand and ensured readiness for service expansion in the region. Significant resources have been invested in business development in Southern and West Africa, where strategic partnerships have been established. Together with employees and management who own more than 30% of the business, shareholders are committed to continuing to build a great African business that delivers value to its clients and stakeholders, and is a catalyst for sustainable economic transformation in its chosen markets.

AMSOL’s strategy has its focus on the sustainable expansion of AMSOL’s footprint in Africa; optimising the strong position of the business in the South African market and positioning for further expansion in the next strategy period 2025 -2030. Underpinning this sustainable growth strategy is the premise that AMSOL will continue to create value for all stakeholders and conduct its business ethically and in compliance with relevant legislation, maintaining steady growth without compromising the company’s reputation and ‘DNA’.

HISTORY

AMSOL acquired the business of SMIT Amandla Marine, the market leader in specialist marine solutions provision in the Southern African region, in December 2016. Delighted at the return of the company to its African roots and South African ownership, employees and management are shareholders.

SMIT Amandla Marine was formed in 2005, and as a 30% Black South African owned company, enjoyed significant growth to 2016, expanding into Mozambique and Namibia during this time.

Prior to 2005, the company operated as wholly owned subsidiary of then global marine expert group SMIT International since their acquisition of the business in 2000.

The roots of the business are vested in Pentow Marine, a proudly South Africa owned entity that quickly established itself as a market leader in the early 1990’s.
