PROGRAMMES

GRADUATE PROGRAMME

AMSOL offers internships and trainee opportunities in various fields such as Human Resources, Procurement, Nautical, Engineering and Marketing.

Applicants must hold a relevant qualification and will be required to participate in developmental activities over a 12 month period which will initially focus on acquiring basic knowledge while working under supervision, and will progress to working independently, with a broadened scope.

CADETSHIP PROGRAMME

AMSOL’s Cadet Training Programme, accredited by the South African Maritime Safety Authority, is apprentice training that fast tracks young people holding the necessary tertiary education qualifications to take up Junior Officer positions at sea.

The company’s programme is a registered learnership programme and, as such, it qualifies for the receipt of sea time remissions (reduced experiential training time), thus making this the most effective way for a person to qualify as a Junior Officer. AMSOL takes on several Cadets at different times depending on vacancies in the fleet.

When there is a vacancy, it is advertised on the company’s LinkedIn page and via recruitment platforms.

BURSARY PROGRAMME

Each year, AMSOL awards bursaries to un-bonded students who plan to study Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies and Oceanography or Climatology at a University.

The Programme is advertised on the company’s LinkedIn page when applications are open.
