STRONGER TOGETHER: INDUSTRY COLLABORATION
By participating in key industry events and stakeholder engagements, both locally and internationally, AMSOL is able to strengthen its network and benefit from shared best practice, market trend information and industry collaboration.
Since the start of 2026, the company has contributed to several industry platforms, including the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) Business-to-Business Engagement Sessions in Cape Town and Gqeberha, where discussions with newly appointed SAMSA CEO Captain Dennis Mqadi focused on the regulator’s strategy to support compliance and growth in the maritime sector.
Industry conferences are important for sharing Best Practice and new market developments, In Cape Town, AMSOL attended Maritime Week Africa (MWA) and the Southern Africa Oil & Gas Conference. At MWA, the focus was on the bunkering sector. Chief Operating Officer Graham Dreyden joined a panel discussion on the future of bunkering in South Africa, exploring the sector’s recovery and regional competitiveness. Internationally, AMSOL was represented at International Energy Week in London in February; an opportunity to engage with global energy leaders on developments shaping the future of the sector. In April, attendance at the International Energy Week in Namibia was an opportunity to keep up to speed with developments in the Oil & Gas sector in that country.
Supporting AMSOL’s commitment to working in harmony with the marine environment, Executive level attendance at the SAMSA hosted GEF-UNDP-IMO GloNoise Partnership Project’s Underwater Radiated Noise (URN) Toolkit Workshop was an opportunity to combine the use of new technology with greater insight into the reduction of underwater noise from shipping.
With maritime skills development an important strategic priority, engagements with the eThekwini Maritime Cluster (EMC) in Durban and the Transport Education & Training Authority (TETA) in Cape Town included participation in an EMC awards ceremony, recognising top Maritime Economics learners from 2025, and a TETA stakeholder engagement session at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business.
AMSOL is stronger for its relationships with industry organisations and professional bodies, and its participation in industry events where clients, associates and industry influencers can collaborate for a stronger, more competitive industry.
