AMSOL WINS ‘WOMEN IN TRANSPORT’ AWARD

Driving inclusivity in the maritime sector is an important priority for AMSOL and during 2019, several initiatives have been recognized for the impact they are having on employment of women in the sector.

 

During the recent Africa Ports & Rail Evolution Conference in Durban, South Africa, the third annual ‘Women in Transport Awards’ took place, highlighting excellence in various categories across all transport sectors.

 

Winning the ‘Best Women’s Skills Development Programme’ category, AMSOL was recognized for the efforts being made to ensure inclusivity in AMSOL’s AB Trainee programme supporting the company’s bunker barge fleet where women make up 20% of the workforce. Competing amongst several companies including Transnet National Ports Authority, AMSOL secured the first place in a year in which the maritime industry globally has shone the spotlight on gender inclusivity in the sector.
