CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: SAFER TOGETHER

Prioritizing employee wellbeing is the foundation of a strong safety culture, which is central to AMSOL’s SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) approach and commitment to continuous improvement. Earlier this year, AMSOL launched a company-wide ‘SAFER TOGETHER’ campaign, which positively impacted all aspects of the business. The campaign focused on building relationships and understanding each other’s challenges, enhancing our awareness of distractions that may hinder safe work and task focus.

At AMSOL, we believe in strong partnerships with all our stakeholders. This is why we invited suppliers and clients to join us over six weeks to engage in discussions that reinforced our shared commitment to working safer together. With various initiatives supporting employee wellness launched across our vessels, sites, and offices, we look forward to keeping this important topic top of mind as we approach the last two months of 2024.

Our commitment to a safe workplace culture extends beyond campaigns. As a result, we have successfully maintained our ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications through Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA). AMSOL recently completed its annual surveillance audits, aligning our practices with global standards—a testament to our dedication to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.

Our achievements reflect the collective efforts of many AMSOLITES who believe in continuous improvement. From our SHEQ & Compliance team to operational personnel, every employee plays an important role in upholding quality in our business operations.

This dedication to safety was also recently recognised at the Imbokodo Maritime Awards, where AMSOL received the Safety Advocate Award. Hosted by the South African International Maritime Institute (SAIMI) in Gqeberha, the ceremony focused on the theme ‘Taking Up the Baton’, celebrating the advancement of women in maritime. SHEQ Advisor Clementine Dlamini accepted the award on behalf of AMSOL.
