LADUMA! 2024 MARITIME INDUSTRY SOCCER TOURNAMENT

In a display of skill and sportsmanship, the 6th Maritime Industry Soccer Tournament, hosted by AMSOL, took place on Saturday 2^nd of March. The event, which served as an opportunity for networking amongst maritime stakeholders whilst supporting the National Rescue Institute (NSRI), was a day filled with excitement and camaraderie.

The tournament attracted participants from De Beers, Barloworld, Damen Shipyards Cape Town, Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) Maritime Studies Department and Sturrock Grindrod Maritime. The competition also included teams from Lawhill Maritime Centre, SAMSA, Hesper Engineering, IQS International, AMSOL, SAMTRA, Viking and Sunrise Energy.

As the matches unfolded, teams and their supporters enjoyed the competitive spirit, progressing through the knockout rounds until SAMTRA, AMSOL, CPUT and Damen contended for a spot in the final; the SAMTRA Workshop Team taking home the trophy.

The event’s success in raising funds for the NSRI emphasizes the power of collaboration and the dedication of all participants towards supporting vital maritime initiatives. Thank you to maritime stakeholders for their contributions to a memorable day.
