NAVIGATING NEW HORIZONS: INSIGHTS FROM CEO DAN NGAKANE

As the year draws to a close, I find myself both humbled and excited to address you as CEO of AMSOL. In my short time at the helm, I’ve witnessed the strength and resilience of employees as well as their commitment to ensuring that AMSOL continues to remain relevant and deliver value to clients in the region.

We have asked a lot from our people this year and the performance of employees at sea and ashore has resulted in the successful execution of different projects. We are also pleased to have achieved several goals that support our company’s strategy. Some key highlights include:

  • The AMSOL Ghana contract award by Tema LNG Terminal Company (TLTC) to provide a vessel management service; as well as the acquisition of the tanker ‘Clenston’, currently on contract to Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL).
  • Expansion of AMSOL’s Fuel Logistics & Transportation business which resulted in us welcoming the bunker barge ‘Lipuma’ into service in the Port of Cape Town for client Astron Energy.
  • The opening of a second office in Durban, South Africa.
  • The rollout and support of the AMSOL ‘Safety RESET’ campaign.

Looking back, this year has been a test of collective strength and adaptability. Together, we faced challenges head-on, found innovative solutions, and demonstrated that even in uncertain times, partnership thrives. The support of key industry stakeholders and Clients has been invaluable, and I am eager to deepen our collaboration and build on the solid foundation and legacy that defines AMSOL.

As we stand on the cusp of a new chapter, my 2024 vision for AMSOL is one of empowering people, continued growth, innovation, and client-centric excellence. We are dedicated to enhancing the value we bring to the maritime industry, ensuring that we continue to build a sustainable business from which all our stakeholders’ benefit, and I look forward to the exciting journey that awaits us in the coming year.
