In a noteworthy partnership spanning the last five years, AMSOL has yet again joined forces with Cape Mental Health on their Training Workshop Unlimited Program. The one-year program which commenced in July 2023 is focused on upskilling 20 unemployed individuals with entrepreneurial skills, practical workplace experience and job coaching support.
AMSOL SAFETY RESET
On the 1st of November, AMSOL launched the ‘Safety RESET’ campaign which served as an opportunity to stop, rethink and refocus our commitment to safety – and to engage with one another about what we can do better or differently to work and live safer. At its core, this supports AMSOL’s approach to SHEQ and continuous improvement.

A FITTING TRIBUTE: ‘SA AMANDLA’
AMSOL hosted a 3-day exhibition at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town from the 17th to the 19th of August 2023 which was designed to pay tribute to the maritime icon ‘SA Amandla’. After decades of unmatched service to the maritime and shipping industries, and as advances in technology and innovation open a window on the future, key industry stakeholders involved in the tugs life took time out to celebrate her unique legacy.

AMSOL GHANA: EXPANDING HORIZONS
AMSOL Ghana was recently awarded a contract by Tema LNG Terminal Company (TLTC) to provide a vessel management service in respect of MV ‘Manye’ and crew for ‘Torman’ FRU. Effective support of their specialised assets will see AMSOL providing experienced personnel, a professional technical management service and a streamlined strategic sourcing solution to ensure operational effectiveness.
AMSOL appoints Dan Ngakane as new Chief Executive Officer
AMSOL is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Ngakane to the role of Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 July 2023. His appointment follows AMSOL’s deliberate succession planning processes and is the result of an extensive recruitment process involving candidates from a variety of industries in the region. Dan will replace outgoing CEO Paul Maclons who has been at the helm for 17 years.
